Foundry Mews, Barnes High Street
Formerly a car repair workshop, Foundry Mews comprises nine contemporary ground floor studio offices/workspaces and one first floor unit.
The site is in a quiet and secluded position, but just yards from the vibrant Barnes High Street.
The workspaces range from 388 sq ft to 996 square feet. The gated development situated on the site of a former brass foundry offers peace and privacy and yet it is close to all the great amenities that Barnes Village has to offer.
An ancient boundary wall is all that's left of a grand riverside house that was once surrounded by open parkland. Latterly a brass foundry the site has had a number of uses over the past 100 years.
Records show it was once a wireless component factory, bookbinders and even a sweet factory. Its last use before we bought the site was as an MOT garage where James Hunt used to sleep off his hangovers.
Purchased in 2012, working with Project Orange Architects we obtained planning permission from LB Richmond for this project in 2013. Charter Construction was appointed on a traditional fully billed Contract completed at the beginning of May 2016. The site was nominated for several awards and was the winner of The Times best small development Award in 2016

Spoilt of choice the pubs nearby are The Waterman’s Arms pub, Coach & Horses with a great back garden, The Sun Inn by Barnes Pond.
For excellent tea and coffee there are The Nest just on the corner, Hermanos Colombian Coffee Roasters, the Parish Bakery and Caffe Nero. If you wish to enjoy a nice pizza after work, there is Pizza Express or for a quick takeaway you can stop at Base Face Pizza or at Tanya’s Fish Bar for a fish and chips.

There is a Sainsbury’s Local and a Marks and Spencer’s just opposite the entrance to the Mews, Pets Corner Shop, Barnes Fish Shop, The Wos Barnes for ladies clothing, a couple of Charity Shops and much more just at our doorstep.
Wellbeing
The Barnes Pond is just 2 minutes’ walk and it is a lovely place to have a relaxing picnic, to take a walk in the surrounding park or by the river side, which is only 3 minutes’ walk and which gives tremendous walks for you and the office dog.
