WC won't flush ( water closet, toilet, loo won't flush)

If the WC won't flush this is not the same as a blockage but sometimes it is reported as if it is as urgent.

If the cistern has a lid then carefully lift this off and lift the hook to the ball valve. This will flush the bowl and as a temporary measure is quite satisfactory

Alternatively if access can't be gained to the costern you can simply flush a bucket of water down the loo pan and this will flush the contents of the bowl away
