The Board

  John Marston MBE BSc, C Eng, M.I.C.E.
  Chairman

  John joined the Construction Company, W J Marston & Son Ltd in 1961 having worked with Costains as a Civil Engineer. John took over as CEO of the Marston group of Companies in 1984,  heading the construction company as well as serving as chairman of Marston Hotels until it was sold in 2006.

  John is now chairman of Marston Properties Holdings Ltd

  Caroline Marston BA (Hons)
  Managing Director

  A designer by training, Caroline joined the Company from commercial practice in 1987 and was made director of Marston Properties in 1991, a non executive Director of Marston Hotels from 1990 to 2005 and Managing Director of Marston Properties since 2000

  Caroline has been responsible for the management of the portfolio for over 20 years and has overseen many changes

  Currently a member of the residential committee of the British Property Federation and member of the Institute of Family Business

  Simon Marshall BSc (Hons) MRICS
  Development Director

  After completing a short service commission in the British army, Simon qualified as a chartered surveyor with DTZ in London.  He then worked in their west end/city commercial development teams.  Subsequently, he has worked for a number of client-side development companies, including residential high end specialists, Octagon.  Simon heads up the development department at Marston.

  Noreen Tapp FCCA
  Financial Director and Company Secretary

   Qualified as member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1998 after completing a BA (Hons) degree in Accountancy and Finance. Noreen heads the finance team. Post qualification industry experience includes property, manufacturing and sales.

  David Robinson FCA
  Non executive Director - Finance

   

  David joined the company in May 2007. He is also a non executive director of two other companies which he chairs and an advisor to other medium sized companies. Until 2006, he was a partner with BDO, the sixth largest accounting firm, specialising in advising private and smaller cap companies.

  David Tonge
  Non-executive Director

  David joined the board as a Non-executive director in 2011 to directly represent the shareholders. He brings experience gained from the Offshore Engineering, Recruitment and Education sectors where he has worked in a variety of IT related roles from Programming to Project Management.

  Commercial Portfolio Surveyor

  Having trained at Cluttons LLP in Central London, Sophie qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in Autumn 2009. Responsible for the day to day management of the commercial property portfolio Sophie also deals with the asset management, lease negotiations and tenant relationships.

  Residential Portfolio Manager

  Anna has 13 years experience in Residential Lettings and Property Management.  She began her career at Marston Properties and then spent two years as Head of the Property Management department of an independent estate agent.  She returned to Marstons in 1997 and now has overall responsibility of the Residential Department and an extensive portfolio of properties.

  With 11 years experience working at Marston’s, Emma is responsible for letting the whole residential portfolio using in-house resources. Dealing with all new and existing residential tenants Emma undertakes all property inventories, viewings and inspections. Prior experience includes 3 years of commercial business centre management in Chelsea.

  Paul joined Marston's in 2010 from Harry Neal Ltd. He has over 30 years experience in the construction industry with 20 years in Site Management involving new build, refurbishment, restoration and fit out, as well as maintenance for residential, commercial and local authority.

  Rupert Palmer BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS
  Development Surveyor

  Rupert recently qualified as a Chartered Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors after completing his Masters in Real Estate Management at Oxford Brookes University. Previous to Marston's he worked with main contractors, VolkerFitzpatrick, as a Design and Planning Manager both in the UK and Europe. Rupert assists in the acquisition, pre-construction, design and management of new and continuing developments.

  Portfolio Maintenance Manager and administrator

  Nicky deals with safeguarding and maintaining all residential properties within the portfolio whilst being the personal liaison to the Chairman, John Marston. With 10 years experience in Marston’s Nicky heads the reception and directs all new enquiries.

  Margaret joined Marston’s in 2007 from previous experiences in the leisure and tourism industry and media related companies. Currently the Bookkeeper for Marston’s, Margaret is studying for qualifications with the Association of Accounting Technicians, is responsible for the Tenant Ledger collections and maintains the day to day accounts.

  Accounting Assistant

  Has a bachelor degree in International Relationship- specialisation: International Trade from the University of Humanities, Sciences and Journalism in Poznan Poland. She is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and is currently studying with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Marta’s main responsibilities include the supplier ledger and supplier payments.
